THE ROSES AND WEDDING BANDS...

Quietly stare at me the pink and white roses,
Stacked in a bunch, sit quietly the posies,
The golden wedding bands, as if making fun of me,
Telling,'Hey! Nobody loves thee '.

Oh! What went wrong
That out of tune, went our love song!
I sit here in my wedding gown,
But no one to make me his own.

The mirror too mocks,
As I sit in a shock,
Trying to understand the paradox,
While the silence talks.

You forgot all your past promises,
Erased me out like forgotten things
Just before taking the final vow,
My forever entry into your life, you disallow.

My thoughts have frozen,
This is not what I had chosen,
My feelings numbed,
My voice dumbed.

I sit like a lifeless doll,
Broken after a nasty fall,
My heart shrieks and cries in pain,
Alas! But all in vain .

My ear struggles to hear the words unspoken,
Floating in the air that flows in,
My arms try to reach out
To you and ask you what this is all about!

My tears on my cheeks have dried,
In my eyes they try to hide,
To my questions I try to find answers
But the pain, sucking me up like chiggers.

Unanswered questions,
Unending suggestions,
No directions,
Just deception.

I sit still like an iceberg,
Without any feelings or urge,
In my wedding gown, caressed by my hand,
Eyes wearily staring at the roses and the wedding bands.
