THE VEIL
You will always see me covered,
In beautiful colours veiled,
Hidden away from the world
All my emotions inside me whirled,
Away from information and knowledge,
Serving the curse and bondage
Of being a girl,
If I try to be me, they all snarl;
The men beat me up and abuse,
My rights to me they refuse,
My right to education
And freedom, turn a deaf ear to my adjurations,
They say I am the weaker sex,
Every night my body they annex,
But one day I will take off my veil,
Show them my might and steel,
Will rightfully gain my freedom,
Show them that I do not need them,
Educate myself and walk ahead with all pride,
Show them that I am fiery volcano, not just a shy bride.
