INVITATION

The lonely road serpentine,
Like the fluid river flowing in line,
The trees high, on either sides,
Lead me along like happy guides,
The dry leaves crackling
Under my feet, babbling,
They sound like the laughter of children,
A thousand smiles, twinkles billion.

The sun peeps
As my feet take leaps,
Crickets creaking,
Colourful birds chirping,
A hundred butterflies whom I have lost sight of
In my city, fly by and above,
The lonely eagle screams
Thinking of a prey, as something below gleams.

The green emerald leaves,
A beautiful dreamworld weave,
The leafy yellow topaz,
Shine with all pizzazz
To grab my attention,
I love their invitation
For me to have some fun and stop
But to my destination I have to run and hop.

My destination where you are waiting,
Amidst nature fascinating,
With open arms
And loving charms,
A heart full of love and warmth,
A blazing fire in an hearth,
A floor spread with flowers
And lovely rose showers.

So I tread along
The road rugged and long,
To my love's destination,
Agonising is this separation
From you my love,
It is you and you that now I can think of,
Although nature invites,
Enjoy, take a break, have some respite.
