HUNGER....
My heart bleeds,
Seeing the child feed
On leftovers strewn on the road,
For dogs and goats,
Why do not we feel the hunger
Of so many in the world, I wonder!
People party with friends,
Till the night ends,
Eating and drinking ,
Within a day forgetting
It all, but do not think to satiate the hunger
Of so many sleeping without food, not even a meal meagre.
Why do not we thinking a ray of happiness,
Cannot we restrain ourselves, practice abstemiousness,
Have a party with such kids and hungry gangs,
Spreading cheer, satisfying their hunger pangs,
Let them have a meal with dignity,
Fulfill our societal responsibility.
They do not require our sympathy,
Just our love and some sensitivity,
Some noble hearts
To understand their plight, be their part,
Help them rightfully earn a meal
By the grace of divinity, be right, do not stray or steal.
Let us pledge to feed them, provide a meal basic,
Bring a smile to destitutes, the sad faces,
Try to provide some food for their hungry stomachs,
With love and care, not to bemock
Their life and destiny,
To help them live their life with dignity.
