YOUR SMILE
What is it that saddens you so?
I see the creases of sorrow,
The veil of sadness,
That melancholy has thrown
On your pretty face,
With the glittering doe eyes
Now moistened
With traces of the tears that had flown.
Your eyes want to speak
But the words turn hazy
And dull,
Blinded by the mist
That envelopes them,
Preventing them from reaching out,
To me or my heart,
Though badly I try.
That I see you everyday
Is enough for me,
But to see you suffer
Kills me from inside,
Wanting to hug,
To sit beside you
Holding your hands
Tightly within mine.
Nearness to you,
Builds me up,
Closeness to you
Warms up my entire self,
Wanting to clear away
The mists by that warmth,
Melt away the snows of gloom
Making you happily bloom.
With your shining smile
The four corners
Of my dark house
Will illuminate,
Will be lighted up
As if decorated
With a thousand
Candle flames.
Keep smiling my dear,
That happy step of yours
At my doorstep
Will fill up my home,
My heart
With all the happiness
In this world
And habitate my vacant house.
To see you around
Every morning
And each evening
I get all the pleasures,
Your happy movement
With that smile translucent,
Spreads happiness and warmth
Wrapping me up completely within.
But the sadness
That sits within
You now,threatens
To do away
With all my treasures,
Like the strong gale
Blowing outside,
Extinguishing all the flames inside.
Do not sit quiet
And sad,you eyes in tears,
Come and share
With me your grief,
Do not despair,
Let me caress your hair,
Let my soothing warm lips
Sit on yours.
Let me drink away
The poisonous grief
That tries to mingle
In the rivulets of your blood
And turn you blue
With the sadness that runs through,
Let me nurse you back
To health and rosy happiness.
Your happy face it is
That fuels my life,
I want to see you surrounded
By joy, exultation and bliss,
All in abundance and rife
Making your innocent eyes
Look angelic and divine
With a happy smile.
So my sweetheart,
Just listen to me
And throw away the grief
That add lines to your face
Once so radiant with happy grace
Out of the window,
Smile and embrace with me the joys that await,
Letting go of the grieving waves of Fate.
