LOVE'S DEATH
You were the glittering star
Shining from near and far,
I saw you as the glowing light,
Guiding me through the darkest night.
I loved you like no one else,
Seeing you my heart would melt,
It singed with emotions and desires,
As if surrounded by a ocean of fire.
You were my own,
Closer to me,than you ever shown,
I was your shadow,
With you everywhere I did go.
I nursed you like the rose,
Shading you from all woes,
Did not notice the thorns,
That pricked and made me bleed in return.
The days were yours,
The nights, your explores,
Your effect was catastrophic,
My love then seemed hyperbolic.
What do I say about you,
Closer to me you grew,
But your closeness to others grew too,
I did not have a hint,nor a clue.
At times you met me,at times others,
Your ways would silently smother
My emotions and my feelings,
Leave my heart bleeding.
You were like the wine red,
Swooning my head,
To you addicted,
By you afflicted.
Even your eyes were addictive
And were vindictive ,
Your eyelashes like the sabre
In their vicious actions so macabre.
Friends and foes both fell for you
Who you demonstrated like a coup,
Words being your sweet companions,
Creating dreamlike illusions.
In my addictive consciousness,
I drew to your wantonness,
To your mischievous smile,
Your charisma and charm beguiled.
In your love schemes,
Everything fell apart at the seams,
My dreams were shattered,
To you nothing mattered.
You forgot me one day without any bother,
As you forgot all the others,
You vanished like the stars
In the morning, breaking the lovelorn flowers.
Now I do not discuss
You,as you are not one of us,
There is nothing to remind,
Everything is left behind.
Still at times there is this surge of passion
Within me,that seeks some compassion
From you, setting again to write a new story
Making everything colourful,go back to old glory.
I do not nurse any grievance,
Nor do I expect your allegiance,
I loved you as my own,
Why did you then leave me alone?
Alone and disowned
By you,for reasons unknown,
Oh!Why this hard tone,
While I silently moan.
I silently moan love's death,
In every single breath,
Forgetting all,I want to drink from the lethe,
Forgetting 'you', my life, before my final breath.
