THE DATE

They were out on a date,
Waiting with clear slates,
To start a story new,
As closer they drew,
With abated breath,
A colourful future they awaited.

On their faces, hesitancy very visible,
Drawing nearer by a thread invisible,
Still unclear about each other,
Looking into the eyes of one another,
At each other they smiled,
Their eyes to each other appealed.

They stood for a while there,
In front of each other,
Whether to shake hands,
Or to hug at their heart's demand,
In confusion she clasped her own hands tight,
While he struggled with the wrong and the right.

She was a lass simple,
With beauty ample,
Large doe eyes lined with kohl,
A beautiful girl,with a beautiful soul,
She looked down on the grass below,
That moment, she just wanted to go.

He meanwhile kept looking at her,
As strange things within his heart stir,
Her freshly shampooed,dark hair,
Spreading a sweet fragrance fair,
Filling him up and his breath,
Like a wild floral wreath.

Her face was calm he noticed,
Her beautiful eyelids she lifted,
To look at him clearly for the first time,
Bells begin to chime,
As soon as their eyes met,
His hands against her face he set.

She shivered and shied,
Blushing like a new bride,
His strong hands held her tight,
She saw herself in his eyes bright,
He was tall and strong,
Royal like a prince young.

His smell made her swoon,
In that pleasant afternoon,
By his masculinity she was awestruck,
In that very moment she was stuck ,
She wanted him in her life,
Now as well as afterlife.

He too was not unmoved,
By his passions he was moved,
Driven to confess his liking,
Everything in that hour was exciting,
He professed his love for her,
His love and heart to her he did confer.

The cool breeze ignited the fires,
Of their feelings and desires,
He wanted to kiss,
But seeing her fidgety, gave it a miss,
Dreading any silly action,
But both melting in their passion.

It was an indefinable attraction,
Followed by their lovely reactions,
Wanting to be together,
Created a lovely bond,to last forever,
They wanted to be each other's companion
Forever, in their beautiful union.

How time passed,they never knew,
With every minute,closer they grew,
Unspoken promises were made that day,
That were to forever stay,
As the sky turned a little grey,
Twas time for them to move away.

Move to come closer soon,
To travel the earth, reach the moon,
Together in each other's company,
Enjoying nature's symphony,
Holding hands they walk back,
To knock on love's door again and hang their love plaque.
