THE LOVE AFFAIR

The silvery dark night,
The pale moon in sight,
Wanting to melt
And be warmly felt,
In the arms of the dark cloud,
That stood near a crowd
Of twinkling golden stars,
Peeping in from near and far,
The mad cloud took no notice,
Enveloped in his own coldness.

The tides within her were hopeless,
With emotions burning inside,smokeless,
She tried to catch his gaze,
Trying to shine in her silvered blaze,
In front of his magnanimity, she stood in a daze,
Beautiful and quiet, she was in amaze,
The little stars teasing her,
Naughty and youthful they were,
She saw the twinkling things making fun of her,
As feelings within her like a whirlwind stir.

The thunder roared loud,
She wanted to hide within her cloud,
Strong,dark and handsome,
While the lightening threw tantrums,
She looked around to hold his hands,
But he slipped like the sands,
Oh!Why did not he understand,
Her heart and it's small demands,
With him she wanted to traverse new lands,
Giving in to all his strong commands.

Then blew a strong gale,
She shook,yellow and pale,
In a queer fear,
That she could not share,
With everything around unclear,
She closed her eyes in prayer,
And all of a sudden she was engulfed and embraced,
By her own cloud,in a haste,
In his comforting arms she eased,
Her forehead his lips touched and kissed.

Her cool warmth,
Fastening his warm breath,
He stole glances at her,
Quietly hugging each other,
Deep in love they were,
He tightly clung to her,
In the warmth he started melting,
In drops,drizzle and finally pouring
Down on the earth,
The final pain loosing all joy and mirth.

He shrunk,as he poured down,
He smiled at her, without a frown,
He felt his grasp around her loosen,
She looked at him in pain and confusion,
Why did he have to go this way,
Why could not he with her stay,
Was she to be blamed for his sudden end,
This was not, what she had dreamed,
She wanted to be in him forever,
To be with him, spending their lives together.

She still hopes for his return,
Waiting amidst the stars,yet forlorn,
In her dreams everything she reruns,
Feeling again, their loving union,
As clouds come and clouds go,
While she wanes and grows,
Hoping against all hopes,
Climbing the times slopes,
She still waits in vain for her only cloud,
Who made her feel loved and her,in his heart allowed.
