SEPTEMBER

Come September,
Bye bye pitter patter,
Damp musty smells
And dark wet spells.

A sky full of cottony clouds,
Float by without a sound,
The summer sun bows down,
In the lap of early dusks, drowns.

Smile the bed of carnations,
Cockscomb and chrysanthemums,
Gerberas, zinias and sunflowers dance freely,
From a corner peeps the shy lily.

The autumn fully pregnant,
Happy and content,
Full of beauty in the ninth,
Showers her best this month.

Can you hear those baby steps?
Can you that slight chill detect?
Quietly tries to enter
The shivers of the winter.

Red apples, juicy peaches,
Inviting parsnips and lettuces,
Freshness loaded dil, mint, coriander,
Rosemary, thyme, parsley and lavender.

Bountiful and so full of nature’s creativity,
Harbinger of festivities,
Paving the way for November and December,
With happiness galore, "Come Ye September!"
