IT TAKES MUCH TIME TO KILL A TREE

A brown and green tree,
Deep rooted yet free,
Born of a tough seed
And the love you feed,
When you sow and water,
Helping it to stand as the rock of Gibraltar.

Steady, strong and perennial,
All good it gives, nothing evil,
The roots travel deep,
Deep into the Earth's bosom to peep,
Gaining succour and nourishment,
Day by day it gains strength.

It gives and gives,
It is a never ending list,
Life giving oxygen,flowers and fruits,
Purifying the air that we pollute,
It has lived for years ; one, two , three, four
And will live on for many more.

It fought with you never,
Then why will you slaughter
It cruelly
And brutally?
Its end
Is not yet destined.

Your stabs
And your jabs,
Its bark will cut,
The wounds will hurt,
Will cry and bleed,
But will soon be ready to satisfy your needs.

If you cut off the branches,
It will again be ready to face the circumstances,
Will give a tough fight,
Then sway in delight
When new shoots will sprout,
Waiting for you like a devout.

You will have to pour the acids of dislike,
Then again strike,
Tie it up in ropes,
You need not be sad, nopes!
The acid of hatred has already burnt its soul,
So you can pull it out with all might and see the huge gaping hole.

The hole that held it once,
Strongly on all counts,
Where deep the roots nestled,
The strong shapely roots now bedeviled,
Take care the fruits do not burst to spread the seeds,
Or else they will sprout and your tree will last forever indeed.

It takes much time to kill a tree,
Infact you never kill it, I guarantee,
The small roundels that scatter around from the fruits,
Will gain moisture, the light of the sun, love of a caring wind, sprout and all your efforts outshoot,
So do not ever try killing a tree,
Just let it be!

Let it be there for the love of nature,
Let it be there for a green future,
Let it be there for the coming generations,
Let it be there to help the civilizations,
Let it live, do not harm, nor kill it
Due to your own population conflicts.
