CHILDHOOD

Carefree childhood, when nothing needed to be understood,
When life was good, there was no fake smile, no falsehood,
When we could play and dance, in the crazy rains prance,
Roll in the grass with no holds barred laughs,
When dressing up did not matter, fully enjoyed the pitter patter,
The world laid out in a big platter, smiled at our chatter,
In joy we jumped into the puddles, happily blew out rainbow bubbles,
Then life was not a trouble, but was an amazing puzzle, full of riddles,
Then plants, animals, nature all were friends, to the joys there was no end,
We flew with the winds, beyond the clouds the heart did transcend,
The heart and souls all got wet, every look with a smile met,
Then rains were not droplets of moisture but splashings of cool showers,
Then hatred never devoured, only love flowered,
Ah! The days of childhood, then we ran barefoot,
When life was not matured, no fetters of what we should not or what we could!
