MAA CHILLAX!!

You were always by our side
Whenever we cried,
At noon or night
You were there right
Next to us, soothing us,
Comforting us.
You were awake at the first cook's crow,
Never tired, always fresh, aglow,
Tied up in your daily chores,
Moving indoors and outdoors,
Cleaning and scrubbing the floors,
Opening the door,
Packing tiffin, getting us ready,
All bathed, powdered and tidy,
Sending us off to school,
Then sitting on the stool
Sipping that cold cup of tea,
With a child's glee;
Planning all parties,
Doing the laundry,
Teaching us,
With the homework helping us,
Rushing us to the doctor,
Whenever we suffered an injury or fracture,
Staying up awake all night,
Tending to us, protecting us with all your might;
Mom often we wondered when you slept,
At times quietly to your room we crept
To find you wide awake,
 Busy noteing down some recipe that you would bake
The next day for your children,
For you all that mattered is our happiness;
Now old with a frail frame
You are still the same,
Wake up at dawn
Never again to sit down,
Going about your daily chores
Just as you did before,
"Your aunt is coming to stay with us,
There is not any time to fuss",
"Day after is your Dad's birthday,
I want to celebrate with orphans the day",
Someone's birthday or anniversary,
Gifts, presents, all things necessary,
You never forget,
Doing small things for all you never regret,
Important discussions,
Celebrations,
Making new connections,
Offering solutions,
You appear to be omnipresent
And omniscient;
For you there would be no rest, no forgetting,
Why do you love sweating?
I am still awaiting
That day when I see you quietly sitting;
Come on Maa! Chillax!
It is time for you now to relax.
