INDUSTRIALIZATION
Industrialization,
Resulted in huge urbanisation,
Brought in opportunities
Bringing in innumerable communities,
Heralded socio-economic changes,
Increased incomes and wages,
Expanded markets
With consumers as targets
Technology progressed,
The urban was easily accessed,
A sharp shift from agrarian to rural,
There were changes behavioral,
Industrial developments
Led to financial investments,
It gave us the refined steam engine,
And many machines,
Harnessed electricity,
Constructed railways and canals with alacrity;
But along with Industrialization
Came concretisation,
The green cover slowly vanished
All to steel and bricks it vanquished ,
Filth was dumped
And rivers shrunk,
Smoke and dark fumes arose,
And sooty air then blowed,
Giving in to tuberculosis, asthma,
Bronchitis, pulmonary disease and emphysema,
Families broke,
It was as if thunderstroke,
Joint families had to let go of dears,
Giving rise to the nuclear,
Trees cut, forests done in regions
For mass colonisations,
Giving way to many complexities
With the speedy growth and its intensity,
Health of labourers suffered,
There were money and education matters,
So everything is not sunny and golden,
There were bitter truths that lay hidden.
So Industrialization was both a boon, as well as a bane,
Some was lost and some was gained,
Technologically it moved us much ahead,
But now it is time we carefully tread,
Taking care of the green cover,
Clean the rivers and beds of water,
Take care of our Earth along with
Or else Industrialization might cost us our breath.
