My Inspiration
My Maternal Grandmother has been a great source of inspiration in my life. A bold, courageous woman, who always held her ground. Stuck to her principles working hard all through . Whatever she taught me still holds true. Although she is no more here, I still feel her presence always. She was the one who taught me the power of love and taught me to do good to everyone irrespective of anything.
A young widow with five small children to look after, she toiled day and night without that smile of hers ever eluding her. Although with meagre means she still helped people around her. She was passionate about her plants, nature and animals and loved and protected her grandchildren like a tigress.
She was a person who quietly helped her neighbour in cash and kind even if she knew that it was never to be returned. She was one who narrated stories with lessons to her grandchildren, cooked sumptuous meals for her family and encouraged all to study. Her self respect, confidence and fight for standing with the right was so enigmatic. She always wanted girls to be educated and self reliant.
I owe a lot in my life to her. My first book that celebrates love, too is a dedication to her. I will always like to have her in all my lives as my grandmother, if there are actually any more. Miss you Otaππ
