NIGHT

The night stands still,
Colourful lights weaving their skill
On the land and water,
Escorting the dark all over.

The balmy night,
Embalmed with fragrances slight,
A play of lights
On the curved bight.

Slight sway of white tuberoses,
Dancing red roses,
A thousand fragrances the night discloses,
All bundled, like a bunch of posies.

Stars twinkle,
Sounds tinkle,
Quietly smiles the periwinkle,
Love rekindles.

As we sit on the bandstand,
Hand in hand,
Dreams studded on a colourful strand,
Hearts picking up what no one can understand.

Thus in love united,
Two hearts excited,
Enlightened, embraced and delighted,
In the velvety, sensuous night, both invited.
