PEARLY MOON
She always mesmerised,
Held me hypnotised,
The pale object in the sky,
Peeping in from the clouds floating by.
Heavenly and divine,
Like the goddess, in a shrine,
I thought she was a friend,
Who came to see me at the day's end.
I would want to play with her,
Would tip toe to touch her,
Always my intentions she knew
And managed to slip through.
The little silver disc,
Like a pale creamy plateful of bisque,
Had me captivated,
Fixated and fascinated.
Grown up now, I still wait for her
Like a pearl she sits, surrounded by stars that glitter
And shine like diamonds,
Scattered on a blue island.
On my roof top, I stare at her,
In my palms, trying to gather
And collect the pale silver
In vain, as she gets away farther.
I hear the rustling air
As I try to reach out to her,
A spellbound lover,
My heart does levitate and hover.
I climb the ladder,
She reaches higher,
The ball of silver,as I look at her,
Sparkling stars, she gathers.
She smiles amused,
To see me enthused,
Slowly she passes by,
And I flutter my eyes.
Night after night
Passes into a new daylight,
Still my heart continues to dance in delight
Every time I see Diana, with her halo of pearly light.
