EFFERVESCENCE

As I walk on the wet grass
My anklets in tune with the breeze,
In rhythm with my heartbeats,
The morning sky splashed
With shades of orange,
Gold and a smattering of grey
Makes my face glow,
The cold winter nip
Adding splashes of pink
On my cheeks
When I remember you,
Your touch,
The embrace
And the kiss,
Blood surges,
Adrenaline rushes,
My eyes twinkle,
My heart sings
As my feet break into a dance
Of love,
My whole being
In love with you,
Dances and cavorts,
Clouds floating by
Stop and look at me,
Birds in dismay
Fly past me,
Butterflies dance with me,
Flowers add more colour to me
As I whirl and swirl,
The dog wakes up
No more snuggles
Up, nor curls,
The rooster forgets its wake up call
Dazed it sits on the brick wall
Quiet and dumb,
As if turned numb
In disbelief
At my craziness,
My zany dance,
As I jump,
Skip, sing and prance,
The pearly dew drop, sits
Quietly on the emerald leaf
And watches me
In amazement,
Amused at the joyful madness,
It forgets its transience,
Still, in conformance,
Feeling my appetance,
Under the magical spell
Of my vivacious effervescence.
