A DISCIPLINED MIND BRINGS HAPPINESS
The mind at times gets hard to hold,
It turns weighty and bold,
Travelling like light
It takes its own flight,
Heeding to no constraints,
It is difficult to restrain
Or keep it in check
By scolding or showing a stick,
To keep it in control
Is a bit difficult as it is always on a roll.
The mind has gigantic desires,
Various urges it fires,
Follows as it desires,
Wants only, that it requires,
Jumps at everything and anything,
Where ever pleases, it starts moving,
It gets down anywhere it wants,
Its strength it flaunts,
The soul's responses to not matter,
Even though it may later just all shatter.
So it is important to tame the mind,
Or else it will just go wild,
Causing damage to the self
And we will lose ourselves,
Cause immense damage
If we do not manage
And let the mind on its spree,
Let it be on its rampage, be free,
Before it throws the soul in a dark pit,
Pray! Just tame it.
Do not cage it, just tame,
Do not lay a claim
On its existence,
Just use some patience,
With the help of God's devotion
And the great power of meditation,
Set it on a right path,
For the entire life cycle to chart,
Make it follow some rules and regimes,
Away from all the mayhem.
Train it with meditation,
With love try to discipline,
Make it a part of your aims and dreams,
Make it moderate, not take to extremes,
Help it with prayers,
To follow the heavenly stairs,
Not take just flights of fancy,
Neither with the soul go anti,
Charm and train the mind, to follow certain disciplines,
As a disciplined mind it is, that brings peace and happiness.
