THE NAME OF GOD & MEDITATION
Our Father in heaven, 'God',
'The Supreme Lord',
I always tried looking for Him,
To find Him was my fancy, my whim,
Looking for him in the garden,
Drawing out His figure in the horizon,
Trying to see Him in the golden aura of the sun,
Figuring Him out in the pale, cool moon,
Among the twinkling stars,
In the colourful flowers,
Wondering whether He was the birds or bees,
The animals, nature, you or me!
He was Vishnu, He was Ram,
He was Shiva, He was Shyam,
He was Jesus, He was Buddha,
He was Mahaveer, He was Allah,
He spoke through the saints,
The seers and the mahants,
The Gurus tried showing the path to Him,
The Padres, the Maulanas just spoke about Him,
But my heart longed to see
Him, with Him for sometime be,
I looked for Him everywhere,
Here and there, anywhere.
I travelled across lands,
Tread over cold and warm sands,
Crossed the oceans,
Climbing up hills, passing through nations,
I asked about Him from many people,
Looked for God in temples and cathedrals,
But He was not be seen,
There was no place where He had been,
Slowly I grew tired,
Was calm and quiet, when something inside inspired,
Lo and behold, I saw Him everywhere,
On the ground,in His creations, the sky and the air.
I sat in contemplation,
Reflecting, in deliberation,
I said a small prayer,
Knowing He will hear,
Engrossed in cogitation,
Deep in concentration,
My brain in cerebration,
I did feel the presence of God in meditation,
The musings and considerations,
Findings and ruminations,
All made me feel Him nearer,
His presence felt closer.
In the clouds I saw Him,
In their roaring loud, I heard Him,
Saw Him in the bees and butterflies,
Felt Him in the blue of the skies,
His touch I felt in the air,
Felt His presence in the dogs, bears and hare,
He dwelt in every human,
Man and woman,
In all His creations he was found,
Soft, silent and calm,
Standing beside them,
In happiness and devastating mayhem.
Now I am always with Him,
Feel Him and talk to Him,
Cry out to Him,
Laugh with Him,
He is in love,
Down here and above,
I find Him in care,
In all my brothers and sisters
On this planet,
In happiness and in sadness,
He is the majestic mountain,
The flowing stream and the vast ocean.
He is found where there is devotion,
Endurance and patience,
He is in a smile,
Not where there is guile,
He is in sharing,
In loving caring,
In the hearts of all,
Poor, rich, big and small,
His thoughts bring contentment,
His name, seizes your attention,
My Dear God, who is omnipotent,
Omnipresent,
Omniscient,
Blessed by His eternal existence,
He is always ready to listen,
When I call out to Him in trust and dedication,
I love my conversations
With Him, filling me up with positive vibrations,
Oh! Thou have been such a great revealation,
I stand and bow in ovation,
Our Father in heaven,
Lead us all to final salvation.
