EDIFICE

Meticulously she chooses
Grass and leaves
Hay and strings,
Between her delicate beak
To make her house of dreams
Amidst nature,
Surrounded by green leaves,
In which she will bring up
And nurture
Her young ones,
A mother,
Creator,
Engineer par excellence,
With patience immense
She strews and weaves
The walls of her nest,
Her world of protection,
The wind shakes it,
With it sways
But still there it stays,
The humans
And their look alikes
The monkeys
Break her home
In glee,
But not affected 'she'
Again goes on
Looking for straws and hay,
From far and away,
Small strings
And tuffts of hair
To make soft cushions
For her heirs,
Sets about making it with great energy,
Nature adding in to the synergy,
Her dreams take a final shape,
In amazement we humans gape,
God 'Himself', in his protection does drape
Her edifice, her own construction
Which she lovingly built for her children.
