A MOTHER

A mother is always a mother,
Whether animal, human or nature,
She is the protector,
The deliverer
And giver,
God and instincts, her directors.

She helps us stand,
Holding our hands,
Helps us cross all obstacles,
Clears away the hurdles,
Lending her supportive push, strengthening our wills,
While crossing ditches, ravines and hills.

Helping us take baby steps,
From falls, she protects,
Feeds and nourishes,
Seeing us happy, her life flourishes,
She is our guardian, our custodian,
We grow under her supervision.

We have our father,
Brothers, sisters,
But she is unique,
An appreciatior as well as critic,
She can never see our tears,
Seeing us sad her heart wears.

She encourages,
Helps fight over our frights, the dangers,
Educates and informs,
Teaches and reforms
Our misdeeds and wrongs,
To her bosom we are welcome to throng.

Her shoulder is always there to cry,
Her encouraging words helping in new things to try,
She is strict, still loving;
But not spared of her scolding,
She helps us take our first flight
With an appreciative look and a hug tight.

She is born to give,
For us to live,
All our thorns and worries she skives,
Our stupidities she forgives,
All her life she strives
To keep us happy and alive.

In us she takes pride,
On pebbly roads she is always beside,
Helping us deal with dirt and grime,
Always with us, in all times,
She lovingly bears all the hardships,
Regardless of her slips and hurtful trips.

Even when we grow, she is still the same,
To see us do well and flourish, always her aim,
Happy to see us walk without help, alone,
She rejoices seeing us on our own,
When we fly out, out of her nest hop,
She is sad, though left alone, but never will stop.

A Mother!
She is the bearer, the feeder,
The nourisher, the helper
A teacher and an anchor,
God's own image she is,
Bearing all love, kindness and goodness of 'His'.
