THE SMALL LITTLE PRINCESS
The small little princess
In bangles and
Small anklets,
Carrying a pitcher
Full of water,
To her home nearby,
Her hair uncombed and dry,
Humming a tune,
Her feet to attune,
Little does she realise,
The pitcher is not her key of life,
She should be playing with toys and dolls,
Climbing up trees and walls,
Go to school,
Get empowered by the education tool,
Surround herself with books and colours,
Instead she scorches in the heat of summer,
Carrying water
For her sisters and brothers,
Father and mother
And everyone else who matters
In this small world to her,
A world where mouths to feed are many,
Such a small angel has to work, is indeed an irony,
Denied her rights
To schooling and education, that could increase her might,
Help her in reducing her brethrens plight,
Alas! No help for her anywhere in sight;
Hope somebody comes and holds her hands,
Educate her and help to stand
On her own feet by herself,
Without any other help,
Pray she flowers into a beautiful soul,
Attaining and reaching her dreams and goals.
