THE PURPOSE OF HUMAN BIRTH...
Why am I born a human,
That too a woman?
Is a question
I ask myself often.
Is it my karma!
Some past life dharma,
That brought me here as a human being,as they say,
Not any animal wild or stray.
Many knowledgeable ones told me
We are here to unite with 'Thee'
Dear God! For spiritual union,
To form a holy communion.
My thoughts differ,
A different direction they offer,
The path of love and compassion,
Creating a beautiful world for all generations.
Believing that 'You' are in all of us,
Our souls a gift from you to us,
So why not serve the humanity,
The downtrodden and the needy!
Fill each life with love,
All treated alike, like 'You' above,
To love and serve all is our karma,
Compassion for all our dharma.
Leaving hatred and jealousy behind,
In love let all humans unite,
No wars, no battles to be fought,
The hearts closer to each other to be brought.
To pick up the fallen,
All enmity forgotten,
Lend your hand to the one in need
And your shoulder to cry and grieve.
Teach the ignorant,
Nourish the under nourished,
Cover the naked,
Serve all as everyone is sacred.
Fill up the divide between the rich and poor,
For all, open our hearts' doors,
Finish all kinds of bitterness,
Bring in cheer, joy and happiness.
In each heart, the seed of love to be sowed,
Everywhere the music of love to be played,
Compassionate hearts to be cultivated,
Life all around to be equally treated.
To do our bit in making this world peaceful,
Livable and lovable,
Is the religion that we humans should follow,
Not just fake ourselves, our insides empty and hollow.
Dear God! Life is created by 'Thee'
But I have to create the 'Human' in me,
Being forever humane.
Understanding, kind, sympathetic and benign.
If I live and fulfill this purpose of mine,
I will feel through all lives touched, your touch divine,
Will feel complete and pass the test
Of doing my duties to the best of my abilities, feel blessed.
