DAD

The strong hands those would hold my tiny palms
In his & walk me, listening to my irritating qualms,
About passer bys,life ,death,Moon, sun, laughter &joy,
Trees,birds,stars,the difference between a girl& boy.
Although i was your princess with curls,
You never treated me like a timid, shy, girl,
Taught me to treat things with a twist & whirl.

Taught me to cook, and sew the stitches,
To mend the bags &the switches,
To iron my clothes , to polish my shoes
Also encouraged  me to write articles &official documents.
I remember how you would dress me up,
Comb my hair into plaits,or a pony tail pile up,
Instilled in me the love of books ,
So I knew the good from the crooks.
Taught me to be self sufficient & independent ,
To live for the mankind, for the country& the present,
An Armyman to the core ,
With dignity everything you bore,
Taught your children the dignity of life
How to lead a prestigious life, even if full of strife.

As we follow your footsteps & your principles,
With the best possible & minimal available,
Never giving in to the pressures unimaginable.
As we find it difficult & miss the path at times,
We go back to the happy times and the bells chime,
And we live & cherish those moments again,
To gain strength through the pains,
Because we really miss you Dad ...
Stay happy up there amongst angels &your God
But We your kids here, will Love you forever Dad!!!!
